Adult Service: Day Supports
Our Day Supports provide eligible and interested individuals opportunities to challenge and enrich themselves while promoting independence in social, recreational, habilitative and educational activities at the Norcom Community Center (NCC) and in the community. Participants attend a safe and supportive Center and engage in activities that enhance their overall well-being.
Employment, volunteer opportunities and evening social events are strongly encouraged and are offered to assist people in experiencing a more holistic approach to planning their day and having a meaningful life. http://www.nccfun.org/ The NCC is an interactive Center where people of all ages, backgrounds, capabilities and purposes can meet, be challenged and enriched in a comprehensive community setting. A multitude of exciting recreational, leisure and educational opportunities for children, teens, adults and seniors can always be found at the NCC. Weight and cardiovascular exercise areas, wheelchair accessible weight machines, basketball court, movie theatre, crafts studio and free play arcade are just some of the many options the Norcom Community Center offers. Additional programs include: evening and weekend social activities and summer camp experiences. This inclusive atmosphere creates an environment in which everyone can thrive and in turn makes the NCC a true "Gathering Place for the Whole Community"! Day Supports at NCC
- A community based service that offers adults (beginning at age 21) both full and part time options Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:00pm.
- The NCC is a great place to meet new people and make new friends in a safe, supportive and interactive environment.
- Educational, habilitative, social and recreational activities are available to eligible individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Funding is provided through enrollment in Consolidated or Person/Family Directed Support Waiver funds or enter into an Independent Provider Agreement payment plan with SPIN, Inc.
- Additional requirements include providing own support companions (if needed) as well as transportation through a public or private entity.
OBRA Services
This specialized option is designed to provide assessment and ongoing therapeutic recreation services to individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in long term care nursing/medical facilities. This program offers eligible individuals the opportunity, assistance and support to access recreational and social activities of their choice at the Norcom Community Center as well as within the surrounding Delaware Valley area.
