Behavioral and Developmental Services
SPIN's Behavioral and Developmental Services, located in Northeast Philadelphia, offer evaluation, diagnostics, treatment and training services for children and adolescents with developmental delays or disabilities and adults with co-occurring behavioral health and intellectual disabilities as well as clinical services for the general population experiencing behavioral health or life stress issues.
Our vision is to improve chosen outcomes for individuals and their families/caregivers who seek information, counsel or support with the challenges in their life.
Current services we offer include:
Psychiatric Evaluations and Treatment for Children, Adolescents and Adults
- We are a participating provider with Magellan Behavioral Health and Aetna
- Fee-for-service payments are also accepted
Psycho-educational Evaluation and Diagnostics
- Children at risk for or perceived to have a learning difficulty, developmental delay or disability or behavioral health issue from birth through age eighteen, including Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Adults either known or perceived to have a cognitive disability
- These services are typically not covered by insurance programs. Fee-for-service payments are accepted.
Counseling and Therapy
- Any child, adolescent or adult, with or without developmental disability, who is experiencing a life stressor or who is at risk for or identified with behavioral health issues.
- We are a participating provider with Magellan Behavioral Health and Aetna
- Fee-for-service payments are also accepted
Integrated Behavioral Support for Preschool Aged Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder who Attend SPIN's Autistic Support Classrooms
- Funded through Community Behavioral Health (CBH)
- Participants must be enrolled in Medical Assistance

Clinical and Behavioral Supports for Adults in SPIN's Residential Program
- Intensive integrated clinical supports for adults residing in one of SPIN's Behavioral Health CLAs
- Eligibility for services is based on authorization through an individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP)
Training and Consultation in Behavioral Support and Management
- Clinical staff are available to provide training and/or program level consultation on a variety of behavioral health and developmental disability topics
- Recent trainings have included:
- Supporting children with challenging behavior
- Building working alliances with families
- Understanding and identifying autism
- Support strategies for children and adults with autism
- Consulting in community settings

The Behavioral and Developmental Services Department accepts applications from undergraduate and graduate students in Psychology, Medicine, Education and Social Work who are looking to gain experience in the field.
